Running through the Capital of the Highlands, Inverness, the River Ness is truly a beautiful focal point of the City. At Inverglen Guest House we always recommend to our guest to take the riverside walk along the River Ness right up to the Ness Islands, enjoying all our Victorian suspension bridges which wobble as you walk over them.
The River Ness is a shallow and tidal river, with Inverness being at the mouth of the river, where it joins the Moray Firth. The water in it flows from the mountains into Loch Ness, and then out to the sea and it is crystal clear and very clean.
