A Celebration of Running for all abilities and ages
The Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running is a major event in the Inverness calendar. At Inverglen Guest House we nearly always have guests running in this fabulous event.
Whilst the Marathon gets much of the headlines, this is truly a festival of running for all abilities and ages. The events are as follows:
The Loch Ness Marathon is one of the most stunning marathons in the world. The spectacular scenery and wonderful atmosphere combine to make competing a truly memorable experience. No wonder it was voted in the top 10 UK marathons by Runner’s World readers in 2016.
River Ness 10K& Corporate Challenge:
The River Ness 10K takes the runners through Inverness and along the banks of the River Ness. The course is relatively flat and gives runners a good prospect of setting a personal best time.
This race attracts serious runners as well as many who are testing themselves before stepping up to a half marathon or marathon. It is also popular with fun runners who see this it as an opportunity to raise funds for their
There is also the opportunity to enter a team of 4-6 runners by entering the 10K Corporate Challenge.
River Ness 5K:
The River Ness 5K is ideal for those new to running or for those who feel a shorter distance suits them better. The 5K is open to runners of all ages and abilities including wheelchair entrants. The route is a flat course along the beautiful River Ness and finishes alongside other races at Bught Park, Inverness.

This popular run is open to pre-school children aged 5 and under. The short circular route of approximately 800
