Local & Seasonal Produce
The official year of food and drink in Scotland may have been 2015, but at Inverglen Guest House we ensure that every year is Food and Drink Year.
We use local food produce wherever possible, and try to include seasonal produce in our menu choices to enable you to enjoy the best Scottish ingredients during your stay.
Our eggs are all free-range from a farm overlooking the Moray coast. Bacon, sausages and black pudding are usually sourced from Scottish butchers or food producers, and we serve Scottish Smoked Salmon, usually sourced from the Shetland Islands.
All cakes, sweet breakfast loaves and muffins are baked by Susan at home, and the shortbread provided in your room is also home-made. Please ask if you would like a recipe to take home, or you can “like” our Facebook page, where new recipes are posted every month or so! You will also find more recipes at Susan’s Recipes.
If you would like to try some traditional Scottish dishes during your stay in the Highlands please ask, and we will let you know what to look out for on the menus. There is a folder with sample menus from local restaurants in the hallway, and some information about local food specialities.
